I’m really glad you’re here.
This is a space for people who care about books, stories, and the inner life of making things—especially when that making has to fit inside a very full life.
It can be lonely to write into the void. If you’ve found your way here, there’s a good chance you know that feeling.
This is about the stories that linger, the need for human authenticity in the age of AI, and why I keep on writing and sharing, despite having work, kids, and a perfectly full life already. If you read something here and feel a little less alone—or a little more patient with your own creative life—then it’s doing what it’s meant to do.
Here’s how to navigate:
If you’re here for my nerd-heavy reflections on creativity and writing
I publish essays at an intentional pace. Expect them to arrive eight times per year as the wheel of the year turns–just enough to stay connected without burning out.
Start with this essay: “why I’m quitting,” where I discuss my difficult decision to turn away from writing young adult fiction and towards other audiences. Or, consider checking out “we should be friends if” where, after many weeks of reflection, I narrowed down my personal canon of books, movies, short stories, and television shows.
If you’re here for serial fiction
Beginning in March of 2026, I’m sharing Kings of the New World—a young adult contemporary dystopian in which two prep school juniors must form a sketchy alliance to stop their parents’ doomsday cult from destroying society. This story already knows where it’s going, and I’m finally ready for readers to discover it. New chapters will be published each week on Wednesdays.
The first chapter goes live March 12, 2026. Subscribe now and it’ll land in your inbox when it’s ready.
Content warning: Kings of the New World deals with heavy themes including violence, cults, abuse, and trauma. Full content warnings are included in Chapter 1.
You can subscribe to both, or adjust your settings to receive only one or the other. No hard feelings either way!
